In Memoriam Gil Navarro

The Democratic Luncheon Club is sad to share that our Parliamentarian, Gil Navarro, 81, passed away just before midnight Saturday, April 6. Gil was battling pneumonia and was surrounded by his adult children and family.
We worked with Gil on so many causes and issues in civil rights, education, politics and the law. He helped hundreds of young people achieve educational success. He was an enthusiastic member of the Democratic Luncheon Club, instituting our fundraising sponsorships and running our opportunity drawings at the annual banquets and serving as parliamentarian for two terms.
He was a tireless advocate for Latinos and encouraged countless Latinos and young people to run for public office. He held the elective offices of County School Board and SB Valley Municipal Water District. He was currently serving as a Commissioner on the SB County Mental Health Commission, appointed by Supervisor Baca. A life well lived.
The family is seeking donations for a memorial.
